HISTORY

1954

Jim began farming his father, Edgar's, citrus and stonefruit after graduating highschool in 1954. He also grew cotton on his father in laws property. Eventually he bought some of his father’s properties and his father in laws property. He became a farm labor contractor picking oranges and olives. He also was a truck driver hauling the fruit his crews picked.

1979

Greg Haury helped with some of the farming chores after school and on weekends. After graduating high school, Greg drove truck hauling fruit in from the fields to packinghouses. Greg also helped with some of the farming (spraying trees, running wind machines, forklifting, and various tractor work).

1989

Trucking became a large part of the family business, so Greg bought his own truck. Jim and Greg hauled oranges from the field to Ivanhoe Citrus (Sunkist) for several years, totaling over half a million bins.

1993

Eventually Greg and Jim bought properties in partnership and planted pummelos in 1993

2000

In 2000, Jim and Greg built a small packing house in partnership to pack their own pummelos. Greg managed the packing house and Jim managed the farming.

2008

Greg built a new packing house and cold storage from the ground up. This allowed him to pack a large volume of pummelos more efficiently and store them for a long time in a cooler.

2012

Our first organic field was Certified Oganic.
